Pupils from Longman’s Hill Primary school were right on song at a recent visit to Tesco, as they helped raised funds and put smiles on customers faces.
The youngsters were belting out songs in the run-up to Christmas as they looked to raise funds for various charities, including Tesco’s chosen charity of Cancer Research UK.
Jo Julian, store manager for the Portholme Road branch, said: “The customers absolutely loved it.
“People kept stopping in the foyer to listen and it created a really upbeat day.
“This joint venture was a great way of raising funds and the fact that it was just before Christmas meant the place was brightened up by smiling and singing children.
“The children themselves were very upbeat and always stopped to thank everyone who donated.”
The day helped raise vital funds for the school’s chosen charity and also Tesco’s and in the process helped to raise over £25 which the store will now pass on.
Jo added: ”Hopefully we can do something similar to this again.”
