Carlton Primary school pupils are celebrating after scooping top prize in a regional music competition.

Around 40 Key Stage 2 students at the school made their way to the Pontefract Music Festival to compete against other budding musicians in the area.

The results saw two second-placed finishes in the morning session before a first-placed finish in the afternoon, which meant overall the school finished top of the pile at the end of the day in what was a memorable trip for the Carlton youngsters.
