A BRIDGE which experienced torrential flooding and long closures during the recent downpours, has finally reopened.

Cawood Bridge, on the B1222, has been re-opened after a prolonged period where it was out of use due to safety fears.

The arriva 42 bus service, which links Cawood to Selby, was also heavily affected by the closure, and as a result that can now resume normal service.
