‘Board’ kids catered for
INTERACTIVE fun is on offer at an out-of-school club in Brayton thanks to Times-supported Selby Hands of Hope.
The community charity recently bought a smart board for the Phazers group, which runs breakfast and teatime sessions, as well as holiday sessions, in Brayton Community Centre.
While the new piece of equipment is proving a real hit with all children at the club it is a particular favourite with a group of children with special needs who use the holiday club.
Family support worker with the Selby Disabled Children’s Services Lesley Senior said: “We take around 20 children to the club and the interactive white board means they can draw, play games and write.
“We are also hoping to get some programmes to help the children with their communication needs.
“Phazers and we are very grateful to Selby Hands of Hope for this piece of equipment.”
