Best ever GCSE score for Sherburn!

Sherburn High School has this year announced its best ever GCSE results.

Headteacher Martyn Sibley, praised students and staff for a fantastic year. He said: “These results are fully deserved and reflect the hard work and attitude of our students and the ethos of our wonderful school.

“The record results come against the challenging measure of five A* to C grades including English and maths with 52 per cent of our students securing a GCSE pass.

“We are delighted that our students have once again had their hard work and efforts rewarded by these fantastic outcomes.

“Overall the school has achieved 81 per cent pass rate for five A* to C grades, including all subjects, which is a great achievement.”

Outstanding individual performances at the school included Chloe Ferguson who achieved a remarkable 11 A* grades, Jacob Hardman who secured 11 A/A* grades and

Beth Beck who achieved eight A/A* grades. Tom Hartley received seven A/A* grades.
