All in the good name of charity
Students at Brayton High School show their support for the Salvation Army Christmas Present appeal.
STUDENTS from Brayton High School donated in the name of charity for a special festive appeal.
Last month representatives from the student Learning Leader team met with Captain Ian Haylett from the Salvation Army in Selby.
He spoke to the students about the Salvation Army Christmas Present Appeal and asked them to help to collect as many new unwrapped Christmas gifts and food items as possible.
The students had all clubbed together with generous parents and staff to collect an amazing amount of gifts to be distributed in the local community.
These items were then sorted and given to the needy in the area, ensuring that no children went without a Christmas present or something to eat on Christmas day.
Mrs Elliott, music teacher at the school, said: “This is a fantastic achievement and yet again our students, parents and staff have done Brayton High School proud.
“I would like to say a huge thank you to all who have generously contributed.
“I’d also like to say thank you to Mrs Walker and Mr Kelcher who delivered two car loads of presents.”
