Junction to close for roadworks
roadworks on the M18 will cause night closures at the Hatfield junction next week.
Work will be carried out on the gantry above the M18 southbound carriageway at junction 5 North Ings Interchange, to allow safer and easier access by roadworkers.
During the work it will be necessary to close the junction 5 southbound exit slip road overnight from Monday, January 28, until Friday, February 1, assuming reasonable weather conditions.
During the closure traffic will be diverted via the M18 southbound to Armthorpe and return via the M18 northbound to junction 5.
Between February 4 and 9 the M18 southbound carriageway will be closed at junction 5.
Traffic will be diverted off the M18 junction 5 southbound exit slip road and will be diverted back onto the M18 using the junction 5 southbound entry slip road.
To minimise any disruption to drivers, all the work will be carried out overnight between 8pm and 6am.
Highways Agency project manager Steve Wright said: “Safety is our top priority and for the safety of road users and road workers we encourage all drivers to drive carefully along the diversion route, keeping within the speed limit.”
