Barrier work being carried out on the A63 at South Cave

NEWS: News.

NEWS: News.

THE Highways Agency will be carrying out barrier replacement work on the A63 westbound entry slip road at South Cave next week.

Work will begin at 8pm on 10 February and will involve an overnight closure of the A63 at South Cave. The westbound entry slip road will also be closed.

During this time, A63 westbound traffic will exit at South Cave and follow the diversion route along the A1034, A1079, A614 and B1230 to return to North Cave and then take A63 eastbound back to South Cave.

The westbound entry slip road will then remain closed 24 hours a day until 17 February. The A63 main carriageway will reopen at 6am on 11 February but a lane one closure will be in place.

During the entry slip road barrier work a clearly signed diversion will be in place. Westbound traffic wanting to access A63 at South Cave will travel eastbound along A63 to exit at Welton Junction, negotiate the interchange and return along A63 westbound carriageway.

The A63 main carriageway at South Cave will be closed again overnight from 8pm on 16 February to remove the traffic management. Both the carriageway and slip road will reopen fully at 6am on 17 February.

Highways Agency project manager, Steven Wright, said: “The barrier work will increase safety at this junction. We have planned the work to minimise disruption to drivers. The entry slip road will remain closed for a week and we advise road users to plan their journeys to avoid delays.

“Safety is our top priority and for the safety of road users and road workers we encourage all drivers to drive carefully through the roadworks, keeping within the speed limit, and concentrating on the road ahead.”
