A FORMER Old Goole woman launches her first ever book next week with a return to her roots.

Helen Lawson (38) is a former Goole Grammar School pupil, formerly of Heber Terrace in Old Goole but who now lives in Manchester with her partner and two children.

She is set to return to Goole Library with copies of her new book, The Spaceship Saga and Other Stories, on Saturday January 19 from, 10.30am.

Helen told the Courier: “It is a book written like a play designed to help young readers feel more confident when reading aloud because they only read every other line.

“There are five short stories in this book and you can read a full story from start to finish at bedtime.

“It’s for ages six to eight and a truly interactive way to read together with your children.”

The books are £6.50 each and Helen will be available to sign copies if anybody wishes.
