IT'S often difficult to tell who's authentically reviving metal and hardcore in a post-millenial musical landscape.
Brooklyn's Goes Cube are unquestionably the real deal, however, unloading dense, volcanic bruisers that avoid show-offy math-rock arrangements as deftly as they eschew superfluous solos and old-school arena theatrics.

David Obuchowski's vocals are most closely compared to the purposeful, growling assault of Unearth's Trevor Phipps, but slam-pit-cum-headbanging anthems I Hold Grudges and Goes Cube Song 30 are refreshingly indebted to mid-period Sick Of It All.

Another Day Has Passed proves New York has more to offer than pained variations on dance-rock and post-punk.
