Sia: Lady Croissant

SIA is without question once of the most innovative and interesting female artists around.

In Lady Croissant, she's produced an album full of intrigue and intelligence. Containing new studio song Pictures, together with several Zero 7 tracks – Destiny and Distractions, a cover of The Pretenders' I Go To Sleep and live recordings from her performance at Bowery Ballroom in New York, and you've got an eclectic mix of some of the best female vocals money can buy.

Her haunting melodies and trill reverbs strike at the very soul. This is deep and reasoned music; no superficial pop here. Sia is currently in the studio recording her next solo album. If Lady Croissant is anything to go by, it will be an immediate hit. She simply produces the sort of songs that instantly sound like classics – and that's no easy feat. Multi-talented, she has the music world at her feet. I just wish I had been in the audience that heard these tracks being played live. Mesmerising stuff.
