Shops forced to 'jack it in'

YOU can't help but feel sorry for the small businesses having to close in Selby – Trade slumps (Selby Times, January 14).
I note financial commentators are saying key to their survival is innovation, meaning they must think of different ways of doing things. That's just what they're being forced to do; in slang and layman's language, that means jack in.

In my experience, financial commentators and advisers are musts to avoid. Any fool can play around with other people's brass. If only our Prime Minister would tell the truth, he would vouch for that.

Incidentally, John Grogan MP has been conspicuous by his absence during the recent foul weather. Has he hibernated?
