COME on guys, get out of your homes and enjoy the town.
Did you carp on about last year's fun day that cost £16,400, this year's fun day with its budget of £15,000, and will you not be taking your grandchildren to enjoy the fireworks this year with its budget of £10,000?

The Conservative administration of Selby District Council is predominantly businessmen and women who are, or have, their own successful businesses, or who are in, or have had, senior management
positions in large private sector businesses.

Our ambition, and we shall deliver it, is for greater reasons to come to the town, and to bring the benefits of greater demands on retail to broaden and deepen that experience, to make Selby a destination town for culture and leisure and continue to improve the town so it's truly a place to live, work and have fun.

So you seven (Selby Times letter writers], stop casting your eyes down; raise your eyes to the horizon. Selby is moving forward, join the huge majority who want quality progress, experience the new Selby, be part of it and enjoy life.

Coun Brian Percival
SDC deputy leader
