HOW'S this for a dramatic climate change? It snowed every day and every night from the second week in November until the second week in March.
The year was 1947. I remember it well. Snow drifts in various places reached 12ft high, often cut out by council workers with shovels.

Provisions were dropped from the air by planes etc to outlying Wolds villages; one in particular was Thixendale.

In March, the weather took a sudden change for the better, and in four days the snow had gone, leaving most areas with massive floods.

As far as I know, that climatic change wasn't man-made, nor is the one we're having now. Whatever will be, will be.
