Absolutely brilliant, we had a on-the spot booking for 13th people as it was my Dad 60th birthday (due to being let down with another restaurant), and they were wonderful. They were very friendly and patient with us, they even put little 60 decorations on the table and firework candle in my Dad's cake. Couldn't praise them enough.

If you are going to visit this restaurant as part of a large group give it a miss!
I found the food to be very bland in taste, and also had to return starters due to them still been frozen.
The special banquet selection was not all that special (luke warm), again give it a miss and select individual dishes.
The starter course would have benefitted by having a few spare ribs, and crispy seaweed.
The duck course needed to be warm, and taste aromatic.
Main courses were very similar in taste, warm but bland.
Coffee and chocolates to finish were fine!
I have had other all you can eat / banquet style meals at other similar establishments, and have always found them to be good value, with a wide variety of tastes to suit all appetites (not here).

China Palace restaurant is situated on market cross, above Home Bargains. China Palace has been in Selby since the early 80’s. There is no parking but there is Pay and Display car park around the corner that is free after 6pm. China Palace offers a lovely relaxed atmosphere for a romantic meal for two or group bookings. The food is plentiful and I think tasty and authentic. The decor of the restaurant is oriental with Chinese lamps and chop sticks available is you wish to use them There a lovely large fish tank to keep you amused while you wait to be served. In the waiting area there is a fully licenced bar, LOL keeps me amused! China Palace also offers a take away service which is cheaper than the restaurant prices. As a family we use the take away service which has always been good on a regular basis. The restaurant is left often due to having a family but usually about twice a year. Summing up a good restaurant. =^_^=
