PRIME Minister Gordon Brown paid tribute to the wide range of support, leisure and information services provided by North Yorkshire County Council and its partners during a visit to Sherburn today.
During a fact-finding visit to the council's 'integrated services centre' at Sherburn, the PM said he was impressed with the way the area is supporting people during the economic downturn.

The centre at Sherburn incorporates a library and information centre, a children's centre, and Citizens' Advice Bureau facilities.

Mr Brown also met representatives of the new North Yorkshire Credit Union and the local Citizens' Advice Bureau during his whistle-stop tour of the region.
