BRAYTON Headstart can enjoy outdoor fun all year round after opening its new all-weather activities area.
The 40 youngsters who attend the playgroup can now clamber, climb and slide on the equipment installed by Richard Nicholson, of Selby-based Pinnacle Sports.

Headstart administrator Nikki Gabel said the equipment had been bought using an £8,144 grant from the National Lottery and from community contributions. She added: "It's great now the equipment is here. The children think it's fantastic."

The playgroup, based in the grounds of Brayton College, is inviting the community to join them at 1pm on June 28 for an activities day.

Visitors can also learn more about early years services in the area.
Chairman Diane Edkins said: "We're really looking forward to holding our Playweek event. Parents can find out about what's on offer, have fun and see our new all-weather play area."

Brayton College headteacher John Kesterton added: "The college is delighted to work in partnership with Brayton Headstart.

"College students have raised funds for the group, which contributed to the new outdoor area, and some students have been able to take up work placement opportunities there as well. The new outdoor area is an excellent facility."
