STEAM engines and a host of entertainment greeted more than 500 visitors to Sunday's Monk Fryston and Hillam Fun Day.
Organisers described the atmosphere as a "good old fashioned village get-together", and said it brought out the best in the community.
Monk Fryston Primary School headteacher Carole Middleton said the event, held on the school field, was "fantastic" and involved lots of volunteers and people from the area.
She added: "The weather was brilliant and we all had a great day.
"Many organisations from the village benefited from this, including the school, which hopes to raise a few hundred pounds from the day to go towards our new planned outdoor learning area.
"The event was a credit to the people of the village. Children from the school joined in with Morris and maypole dancing, as well as cheerleading, and there were steam engines, traction engine and farm
vehicles on the field.
"And visitors had a great time with the welly-wanging and egg-throwing."
