VILLAGERS hit the high note at this year's bumper Carlton Feast celebrations.
For the 99th annual event – which dates back to Norman times when it was a yearly hiring fair for farm labourers – was based around the theme 'musicals' for the fun-filled activities.

The gala, held at Carlton Towers on Saturday, was opened by a precession through the village led by ten-year-old feast queen Abby Clark with attendants Meghan Crossland and Eva Braithwaite, both aged 11, with decorated floats behind.

That was followed by fun in the sun, including a foot race, tug-o-war and other action-packed musical games, as well as stalls, refreshments and much more.
