New WI plans

SELBY could soon boast a town centre Women’s Institute if enough people come forward.

After a roadshow in Selby last year, there has been plans for a new WI and a get-together has been planned for February 21 at Community House in Portholme Road at 7.30pm to share ideas and learn more about the WI.

Pat Shotton, of the North Yorkshire East Federation of WIs, said: “It is an organisation for modern women of all ages. A way to meet others to share interests, enjoy different activities and make friends.”
