Crews tackle outhouse blaze

FIRE crews spent nearly two hours tackling a blaze which ripped through an outhouse in a Doncaster village.

Officers from Maltby and Edlington stations were called to deal with the incident at a house in Nelson Road, Edlington.

The call came just after 6pm on Wednesday, after reports an outhouse to the rear of the derelict property had been deliberately set alight.

Rubbish including an old mattress had been stacked up and set on fire.

The flames caused substantial damage to the detached outhouse at the terraced property.

Crews spent more than 90 minutes damping down at the scene of the blaze and making the property safe.
