No horsing about now!
Pictured in Cliffe village in the 1950's are racehorses, bred by a little known racehorse breeder and farmer Mr. C. Pulleyne of Cottage Farm, Cliffe. A Selby stable lad, Mr. Maynard, sits astride the white horse, which was sold to a Middle East race horse owner, possibly a Saudi Prince.
This picture is from my new book.
Titled ‘Memories and photographs of Cliffe and Hemingbrough’ which may yet be published to raise funds for a War Memorial, this photo was taken in Cliffe village on the old Hull Road in the 1950’s showing two racehorses bred by a little known racehorse breeder and farmer Mr C Pulleyne of Cottage Farm, Cliffe.
A Selby stable lad Mr Maynard is astride the white horse which was sold to a Middle East race horse owner, possibly a Saudi Prince.
