A LITTLE piece of home will be winging its way to British troops in the world's war zones thanks to kind-hearted students from Brayton College.
Caring children have again launched their SOS (Support Our Soldiers) campaign to send gift boxes containing soap, toiletries and other essential items to those fighting on the front-line.

Christmas Care packages are always a huge hit with troops serving overseas, and will be particularly welcome by those in Afghanistan during the festive period.

Brayton College headteacher John Kesterton said: "Years seven, nine, ten and 11 will be asked to help support this campaign.

"This is the third year we've contributed and we hope to break last year's record.

"One thing we would like to do in particular is look to support a unit that may have a relative of someone in college to act as a Santa for our care packages.

"The deadline for boxes will be November 20, to allow for transport and distribution."

If anyone wishes to donate items to the college, they can be handed in to the reception in a bag labelled 'SOS Christmas appeal'. A list of suitable items can be accessed via the college website at www.braytoncollege.org.uk or via the www.supportoursoldiers.co.uk website.
